With magnificent views over Lake Windermere and towards the Langdale Fells, Holbeck Ghyll is idyllic in any season, surrounded on all sides by Cumbria's natural beauty.
Bedrooms in the main house and in the adjoining Lodge overlook the lake and mountains. Some of the spacious suites have been designed with families in mind, and this applies especially to the Miss Potter Suite, which has a private terrace and a hot tub. All bedrooms have finest Egyptian cotton sheets, CD/DVD players, welcoming flowers and a decanter of damson gin.
Holbeck's Michelin starred and AA restaurant is one of the best in the Northwest and has been ranked No 23 nationwide by the Good Food Guide. Holbeck was built in the 19th century, then bought as a hunting lodge in 1888 by Lord Lonsdale of boxing belt fame.
Relaxation at Holbeck can take the form of walking, boating, golf, bird watching or indulging in a range of treatments at the hotel's spa, which uses a range of ESPA products or exploring the Lake District's rich diversity.
Holbeck Ghyll is open all year except 2 weeks in January
