The Norfolk Mead Hotel
The Norfolk Mead Hotel sits in eight acres of gardens and grounds on its own lake on the river Bure. It borders the Norfolk Broads and is the ideal spot for relaxation, or, being just eight miles from Norwich, as a business base.
Each of the 12 bedrooms, with names like Boleyn, Boudicaa and Nelson's Quarters (on the second floor) is imaginatively decorated.
There is also a Garden suite and Mead Court Cottage, adjoining, which sleeps up to four guests. The atmosphere throughout is that of a private house, with charming hosts and local staff making guests feel very much at home. Head chef Mark Sayers uses locally sourced meat and fish, locally grown organic vegetables and herbs from the hotel's own garden.
The hotel's front lawn leads to The Mead, teeming with wild flowers and birdlife. You might see a barn owl or an otter playing. There are splendid walks from the village and the hotel has a rowing boat available for rent.

Hotel reviews
June 2011 : One of my favourite Norfolk hotels…friendly host Don, stylish comfortable rooms, each one different, great local walks (and broads if you are a sailor) and fine food, well served by friendly English staff. Who could wish for more? Pity they filled in the swimming pool…

November 2011 : We frst started to visit this delightful hotel 15 years ago and have somany wonderful memories. We have stayed nine times so far this year! The staff are all so very friendly, and carry out their duties in a very professional manner. The food has always been excellent, prepared by head chef Mark Sayers and his team.

November 2011 : My partner and I stayed at the Norfolk Mead Hotel for a short break and we couldn’t fault it. From the welcoming and professional staff to the amazing bedroom we were in (the Lady Hamilton Suite), everything was perfect. We stayed on a half board basis and thoroughly enjoyed the food the hotel prepares.
