Beechwood Hotel
A special welcome from hosts Don and Lindsay, a friendly and informal atmosphere, 17 comfortable bedrooms, fabulous food from a creative Head Chef, a Heritage coastline, a Royal country retreat and the Norfolk Broads all close by; is the Beechwood recipe for a great Short Break!
The restaurant is the hub of the hotel. The cuisine served is Modern British with a Mediterranean influence and has been recognised by AA rosette. Head chef Steven Norgate prepares a ten mile dinner, celebrating local ingredients, sourced, where possible, within ten miles of the hotel. My Walsingham cheese tart with bacon & mustard ice cream to start with, followed by Sheringham lobster, was memorable. Cromer crab, Morston mussels and Thornham oysters also feature in season. Do leave room for dessert - the sticky toffee pudding is to die for.
After dinner you can sink into a leather sofa by the bar for coffee or a liqueur.
Bedrooms are delightful, giant sized beds, large Georgian windows, 'Vi-Spring' mattresses, squashy duvets, mounds of pillows, posh bath goodies, fluffy bathrobes and bathrooms with free standing baths are features of many of the bedrooms. Some also have French doors to the peaceful garden.
You are welcome to bring your pet to the hotel, for a fee of £10 per night.

November 2011 : We stopped for three nights for my wife’s birthday, following a recommendation from friends. We were not disappointed, receiving wonderful service, food etc. Will stay again.

November 2011 : Immediately on arrival, bags taken from car and delivered to room. Warm welcome by the owners and shown round the hotel, then to our room where all the facilities were explained to us. Beautiful room and well equipped. Dinner excellent with good choices on the menu. Service good and unobtrusive. The hotel is a real gem. We will be returning next year.
