The kitchen is an experienced line up; chef John, the expert fisherman and forager and Richard, the hands on chef/patron. And so, expect line caught sea bass and turbot, scallops and crab; fine local meat, duck and game; vegetables from the garden and eggs from the resident hens; home baked breads, pastries and desserts; and a cracking wine list. Breakfasts are as indulgent as you may wish and can be served "in bed" if preferred.
Bedrooms come with comfortable seating sash windows and soothing rural views, cafetiere coffee, teas, hot water bottles, fresh fruit, flowers, WIFI, mineral water. Bathrooms are stone clad with under floor heating, bathrobes, classy toiletries. One or two come with separate walk in showers, over sized beds, mini bars, Hi Fi.

October 2011 : We stayed two nights at Plantation House . We have often stayed at bigger and more expensive hotels but we cannot remember any that were better. Very comfortable room, really excellent food, service that we last saw in a 5* Swiss hotel and above all an owner who cares.
September 2011 : Plantation House is an excellent boutique hotel. The rooms are all nicely decorated - we had a look at several of them. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We ate each night in the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the food
August 2011 : If you are heading down to Devon and want a beautiful boutique location to stay, look no further than the Plantation House Hotel! Fantastic location, superb rooms, relaxing log fires and food that would delight even the most critical eye - it's now my defacto hotel when I head to the South West!!!
