Mortons House Hotel
Personally run by the owners, Ted and Beverly Clayton and her sister Alison, Mortons House was built from Purbeck stone circa 1590 in the shape of an 'E' to honour Queen Elizabeth I and overlooks the ruins of Corfe Castle. Traditional bedrooms make good use of four posters, traditional stone fireplaces and fine views of the Castle, Swanage Steam Railway and Purbeck Hills. Spend a wintry evening before a log fire among the oak panelling after enjoying a delicious meal in their AA ** restaurant.
The location of Mortons House provides the perfect centre from which to enjoy this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in this idyllic corner of England, taking in the sights of Corfe Castle, the Jurassic coastline, Kimmeridge Bay, Lulworth, Durdle Door and Swanage with its famous Steam Railway and not forgetting the beautiful beaches at Studland ~ a glorious slice of natural coastline in Purbeck featuring a four-mile stretch of golden, sandy beach, with gently shelving bathing waters and views of Old Harry Rocks and the Isle of Wight. The village of Corfe Castle is protected and perfect, the old 'capital' of the Isle of Purbeck....you've even a sunny micro-climate here.

January 2012 : We stayed at the hotel over New Year's and it was the perfect way to bring in the new year. The service was impeccable and the food was incredible; we loved how professional and yet how friendly the staff were. Our room was lovely and I cannot recommend the hotel highly enough. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
January 2012 : We came back to Morton's House for my wife's special birthday treat and can only once again say that our few days away before Christmas were relaxing and pleasurable at all times. My wife even had a massage arranged by the staff. The food was wonderful, the service excellent and the staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful.
