Manor House Hotel
The site of the Manor House is mentioned in the Domesday Book and parts of the present rambling Gothic house date back to 1750.
Set within 20 acres of elevated grounds, the hotel commands beautiful views overlooking the beaches and waters of Studland Bay. History and character are in abundance; the hotel's medieval carvings are said to have come from the residential quarters of Corfe Castle, home of the famous Mary Banks, who defended it so bravely against Cromwell's troops.
Most of the en suite bedrooms (four with 4-posters) have spectacular views over the bay and out to Old Harry Rocks. Wall carvings in the Westminster Bedroom are of particular interest, reputed to have come from the Old Palace of Westminster, circa 1636. A delightful conservatory has extended the dining area, where decor is sophisticated, and the atmosphere and service is most warming.
The menu has an excellent choice of fresh local produce and the delicious Studland lobster is a must! The Manor House is an ideal base from which to explore the beauty, beaches and nature trails of Studland and surrounding Dorset.

Hotel reviews
August 2010 : Studland Bay and The Manor House were fabulous. Hotel was small, but perfect for us. .All the staff especially management were helpful, friendly and always smiling. The food was wonderful. We will return to this delightful old world hotel with it's exceptional charm and beautiful setting, where nothing is to much trouble. What a pleasant change!!
August 2010 : The Manor House was a lovely unique Hotel , we stayed in the Coach House which was very roomy, clean and comfortable. The staff made us feel very welcome and couldn't do enough to help, nothing was too much trouble. I would have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel to friends and we hope to return to this Hotel in the near future.
June 2010 : We have just returned from a wonderful RELAXING weekend (without the children) at The Manor House Hotel and loved every minute of it. The hotel must be one of the best on the Dorset Coast for (dog) walkers - set in the heart of National Trust land - a long, white sandy beach with dramatic white cliffs nearby and lots of coastal & hill walks from the doorstep.
