When staying at the Royal Forester, you check in at the bar and young co-owner Sean shows you to your exotic, brightly coloured 'fruit & veg' bedroom. You check out the plasma screen TV, DVD player, entertainment centre and WIFI, then go and soak or take a power shower. You then descend to peruse the imaginative menu, which makes best use of seasonal game and local produce. The restaurant with capacity for 80 winds through the ground floor, giving a feeling of privacy for small parties, with divided up areas. A pianist tinkles on most evenings. Outside there is croquet and nearby walks in the Wyre Forest. Golf, clay pigeon shooting and horse riding (with livery) nearby can be arranged. Sean and Maxine bought the Royal Forester, reputedly the oldest inn in Worcestershire, dating back to 1411, four years ago and have rediscovered its original rustic charm. No wonder it is so popular!
