Set in glorious surroundings at the north eastern end of the Derwent/Hope valley in the Derbyshire Peak National Park, the Maynard provides the perfect base for sight-seeing and walking holidays.
With many notable attractions such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and the lovely market town of Bakewell only a short drive away, landmarks like the dramatic 'gritstone edges' at Groggatt, Curbar and Stanage; the Blue John caverns at Castleton and the twin dams on the Derwent/Ladybower Reservoirs - famously used during training for the WW2 Dambuster Raids - are also within easy reach. The Maynard has long been a popular base for walkers, ramblers and climbers in the Peak District, with a wide choice of walks, routes and climbs all within easy reach.
