The Red House’s owners have enhanced its reputation for personal service, hospitality and good food. It commands superb views over its own lawned garden to the Derwent Valley. Three of the ten bedrooms are on the ground floor of the adjacent 19th century coach house. Two of the bedrooms have four posters and one an antique French bed. Menus in the refurbished candle-lit dining room are changed regularly with the emphasis being on fresh herbs and local ingredients. The elegant setting and breathtaking views make the Red House ideal for meetings or small wedding receptions. Next to the hotel is the Red House Carriage Museum, whose carriages can be hired. The Derbyshire Dales, Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Eyam Hall are all also near at hand.
