Winner of the 2005 Central Region Perfect Pub Award - in association with Abbot Ale and The Daily Telegraph
Les Routiers 'Inn of the Year' Central England 2003 |
The King's Head, which changed hands in 2000, occupies a striking position on the village green of this pretty Cotswold village, frequent winner of the Bledisloe Cup Best Kept Village Award. Cosy bedrooms are either in the 15th century older part of the inn (access via outside staircases) or in the new block, approached across a leafy small courtyard. The restaurant, with inglenook fireplace, pews and oak chairs, has earned a high local reputation for creative personal cuisine. Everthing is prepared in-house and whether you go for a snack in the bar (popular with locals) or eat a la carte from the enterprising menu where fresh meat, game and fish all feature, you will be well satisfied.
