The Izaak Walton Hotel

The Izaak Walton Hotel is situated just above the river Dove in the idyllic hills of Dovedale. Originally built as a country house in the 17th century, the hotel, retains much of its original charm. It has four rods of river fishing on the Dove. There are magnificent views from all the public rooms and from many bedrooms. The bar, whose walls are adorned with fishing memorabilia, is a most welcoming place with an open stone fireplace. The AA Haddon Restaurant serves both traditional and modern dishes in a candle-lit atmosphere in the evening, adding to the romance. High peaks swoop down dramatically to the river below the hotel and gently rolling fields surround it. The Izaak Walton is the perfect spot for a restful holiday and is well placed for visiting Haddon Hall and the many sights of Derbyshire.
