Golf Hotels in The West Country
In Gloucestershire Burleigh Court guests can try their luck at one of the Minchinhampton courses – the Old or the New. Nearby Westonbirt Golf Course at the Girls’ school near Tetbury is 9-hole. Cheltenham has the Cleeve Cloud, Lilley Brook and Cotswold Hills clubs. Guests at Charingworth Manor can play at the Broadway Golf Club at Willersey Hill.
Guests at Springfield Country Hotel or Mortons House in Dorset, can play at the parkland/woodland Lakey Heath Golf Club. The Isle of Purbeck Golf Course, with 9 and 18-hole courses, has wonderful views and is convenient for guests at Knoll House, Manor House and Purbeck House.
At Chard in Somerset, near The Lordleaze Hotel, is the Windwhistle Golf, Squash and Country Club, an elevated 9 and 18-hole course with panoramic views. Taunton has three courses: Taunton & Pickeridge, Taunton and the public Vivary Park, handy for Cedar Falls guests. In Exmoor Karslake House guests can try the Minehead and West Somerset Course or, farther north, the celebrated Burnham & Berrow Course.
In Wiltshire, the Chippenham Golf Club and the two Swindon clubs: Broome Manor Golf Complex and Swindon Golf Club are near The Pear Tree at Purton, although guests might like to try also the downland Marlborough Golf Club.

Meudon Hotel is near both the Falmouth Golf Club and Budock Vean, both spectacular courses with magnificent views. Trevalsa Court is near St Austell Golf Club and the Carlyon Bay Hotel, which has its own course. Looe Golf Club is handy for The Talland Bay Hotel and Penventon Park is next to the Radnor Golf & Ski Centre, Redruth which has an interesting 9-hole layout and a covered 18-bay driving range.
Devon is similarly blessed with over 25 courses. Berry Head and the Palace Hotel are near the seaside Churston golf course at Brixham, with Torquay Golf Club nearby. Combe House is very near Honiton Golf Club. Collaven Manor has Okehampton Golf Club nearby and both Plantation House and Kitley House are near the seaside links Staddon Heights course at Plymstock. The two competition Bigbury courses are handy for The Cottage Hotel. Saunton Golf Club is next door to Saunton Sands Hotel and has the East Course and the West course, both offering challenging holes.
